This is our Oregon coast whale dog Kida in May, weeks after her extensive jaw surgery for cancer. She’s a 15 1/2 year old big dog who loves her job so much that she’s still determined to go out searching for whales with her marine biologist Carrie Newell. Our friend Shane Peters, who has done camera and editing work for Little Pearls almost from the beginning, is out there filming today before he and his family fly back to Asheville from vacation. I’ve known these whales for 40 years and Kida’s interactions with them will make a GREAT Little Pearl. Send good vibes!!!
